Best of Breed – Crufts 2014

Best of Breed – Crufts 2014

And another historical moment for us was the Crufts 2014 Show in the UK, where Zöldmáli Huncut won the Best of Breed and CC title- the first ever foreign bred HWV to win this title. And there were 6 Zöldmális winning their classes, which itself is also a big achievement.
Training Courses

Training Courses

After a very successful Pointing Dog Seminar I was running last October in the Yukon, Canada, we continued our international training courses this year in the UK. The first one in spring became so successful, that we organized a shorter and a longer one late summer as well. We hope to be able to keep this going, and organize further UK HPR training days in the future. And our usual spring and summer trainings in Hungary took place as well, with quite an international group, as usual, people coming from Italy, Canada and the Netherlands as well. For further info on our future training days, visit our 'Training' link, or contact us via e-mail.
Our trialing season of 2014

Our trialing season of 2014

This year, we had 5 juniors to train: Vihar, Panka, Spuri, Guppi and Bringa, and all of them accomplished their Natural Ability Tests (AV) with full scores, than the Hunting Aptitude Test (VAV), and all but Guppi (who was struggling with her heat cycle and hormones, so we postponed hers for the coming spring) passed the Field and Water Trial (VMV) in 1st prize- with this gaining an International Work Certificate. Spuri and Vihar passed the ÖTV as well (same as the HZP in Germany). So all the girls have proved their outstanding working qualities. In competitions, this year, we were competing with Zala and Lepke. Unfortunately in many competitions you can only participate with one dog, in others, max....
Our new INTERNATIONAL WORK CHAMPION: Zöldmáli Zala

Our new INTERNATIONAL WORK CHAMPION: Zöldmáli Zala

Zala is our 4th dog, who has obtained her International Work Champion title, and to my knowledge there are no other Wirehaired Vizslas apart from mines in Hungary, who would own this title. This is Zala's 2nd work champion title, as she is already a Czech Work Champion. This year, Zala had quite an astonishing achievement by getting 2nd place, resCACIT and CACT on the biggest CACIT all-round (field-water-forest) competition in Europe, the Memorial Kolomana Slimák (MKS). This was her last leg for the Int. Work Champion title. 24 dogs can participate of all Pointing Dog breeds: the 10 best Slovakians (as its also the biggest national competition in Slovakia), and 10 foreigners. The first place is very much protected...
Field Trial European Cup for Hungarian Vizslas 2014

Field Trial European Cup for Hungarian Vizslas 2014

This year, the FT European Cup was organized in Austria, and in Hungary's 5 membered National Wirehaired Vizsla Team, 4 were Zöldmális (Lepke, Zala, Huba, and Zsivaj). The competition was between the Shorthaired and the Wirehaired Vizslas. Each nation could enter a team of 5 dogs (mix of shorthairs and wirehairs), or a team of 5 wires and a team of 5 shorthairs. Only Hungary could enter a separate team of wires and shorthairs. There were 12 nations entered, altogether 48 dogs. The conditions were very challenging: the weather was very warm and dry, and most of the dogs had to work in high sugar beats. There were 3 groups of judges, everyone was selected by lot, which group he/she...
